21st Century Coaching

The 21st century labour market is in a permanent process of change. Digitalisation, globalisation and ecological transformation have their impact on new jobs. Labour market asks for a more flexible worker, with skills focused on change, feedback and adaptation. Linked to this, is the development of future-proof skills. The 21st Century Skills form the basic skills package to meet the challenges of the working world, but it also needs ongoing updates. As a result of these changes, are seen new needs on different levels.

The aim of 21st Century Coaching Project is to prepare company coaches for their changed role in work-based learning from VET students. In doing so, criteria for company prepared for work-based learning will be describe, 21st Century competences leading to an updated job profile of the coach will be identified, methods and training material for coaches will be develop, and Personal Action Plan where coaches can make their own skills analysis and create personalised learning program will be develop. Finally, a web-app will be create to include the agreements between school and company and to monitoring students skills development for coaches.

This project has been funded with support from the European Commission Erasmus+ KA220 Strategic Partnership Projects Number 2021-2-HU01-KA220-VET-000049510 and will be develop from May, 2022 till May, 2024.

Six partners will participate on this Project, the Olustvere School of Service and Rural Economics of Estonia, the American Farm School Post Secondary Educational and Training Association from Greece, the Brandenburgische Technische Universitat Cottbus-Senftenberg of Germany, the Panepistimio Dytikis Attikis of Greece, the Universidad De Valladolid of Spain and BLANKCON of the Netherlands leading by the M-Around Tanacsado es Szolgaltato Korlatolt Felelossegu Társaság in Hungary that is the Leader Partner of the project.

OBJECTIVES

Main objective: To prepare company coaches for their changed role in work-based learning from VET students.
Derived objectives:

  1. Describe criteria for a company which is prepared for work-based learning,
  2. Identify and rank actualised 21st Century competences (personal skills, transversal skills, educational method skills,
    etc.), leading to an updated job profile of the coach,
  3. Develop methods and training material for coaches, including material about the theory and practice of feedback
    techniques and how to follow the students developments
  4. Develop a Personal Action Plan where coaches can make their own skills analysis and create personalised learning
    program.
  5. Develop a web-app for: a) agreements between school and company, both national and international and b) monitoring students skills development for coaches

MAIN ACTIVITIES

21CC has 4 Project Results (PRs) and 8 additional products.

  • PR 01. Inventory and analysis of updated 21st-century skills for learning company coaches
  • PR 02. Creation of the Personal Action Plan for coaches
  • PR 03. Toolbox for coaches (and teachers)
  • PR 04. Design and construction of the Web-App

OTHER OUTCOMES
Multiplier Events will help to present, to evaluate and to disseminate the project results.
Learning and Training Activities will be used for practical training, for evaluation by experts and also for dissemination. Additionally, participants enlarge their international networks.

BLANKCON and 21CC

Blankcon will contribute to the different project results and is leader of the development of the We-App. We will participate in the different Transaction Project Meetings and organise a Dutch Multiplier Event and de dissemination of the results in The Netherlands and Germany through newsletters and social media posts.
